Utahns' reaction to president's budget
Members of the Utah congressional delegation respond President Barack Obama's budget:
Rep. Rob Bishop, R-Utah: "The time to rein in Washington spending is now, a concept so obvious it has become a cliché⦠It is time for the president to get serious about this issue."
Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah: "What a disappointment this budget is. Not only is it two months late, but the president's budget is a rehash of the same tax hikes, spending increases and deceptive budget gimmicks that have already been rejected by Democrats and Republicans alike."
Rep. Chris Stewart, R-Utah: "Calling for new taxes and increased spending is not the right solution. The president already has his tax increases. It's now time to meaningfully reduce our spending."
Rep. Jim Matheson, D-Utah, on the two parties unwillingness to negotiate: "Once again we will be left without an agreed-upon budget for another year. I find this unacceptable. We need to have an honest, constructive, bipartisan effort that establishes an actual budget for our country."
