Utah's Real Women Run-Find Your Voice, a nonpartisan group supporting women in politics in Utah, is holding an all-day training session Saturday for women interested in running for public office, working on campaigns or generally getting involved with the process.

The training will take place at the Miller Campus of Salt Lake Community College, 9750 S. 300 West, Sandy, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m and is free of charge. Topics will include how women make a difference in politics, serving on boards and commissions, campaign management and strategy, budget, finance, fundraising, messaging and traditional and social media.

House Speaker Becky Lockhart, R-Provo, as well as House Minority Leader Jennifer Seelig, D-Salt Lake City, will appear as keynote speakers along with 2012 congressional candidate Donna McAleer and West Jordan Mayor Melissa Johnson. Other female power players from the political realm will also appear as panelists.

"We believe that every woman has the potential to be a leader, and that women's leadership can be a powerful force for good," said Anne Burkholder, CEO of the YWCA Salt Lake City. "We support empowering women for leadership in every area of life, and political life is no exception."
