Whatever the final bill looks like, Mero said his group will fight against it.
"We’ve opposed [the anti-discrimination law] since the beginning and we’re going to oppose it," he said. "It would be unfortunate to create a war among friends, but that’s exactly what will happen."

The city law
» Forbids housing and employment discrimination based on a person’s sexual orientation or gender identity.
» Exempts religious organizations, businesses with fewer than 15 employees and some small landlords.
» Creates a complaint and investigation process.
» Requires annual reports by the city’s Human Rights Commission on the effectiveness of the statutes.
