Washington - Rep. Jason Chaffetz is likely to lose his speaking spot at the Republican National Convention on Monday after organizers canceled the first night of the gathering because of an approaching tropical storm that will skirt Tampa.

Chaffetz was slated to offer a short speech on the first night but said Saturday he wasn't sure he would be rescheduled as convention officials are now attempting to push four nights of their previous scheduled speakers into three nights.

Chaffetz, who got a chance on Saturday to practice his speech on the stage at the Tampa Bay Times Forum, said he planned to make the best of the canceled night.

"I figure we'll hop down to the Target and buy [the game] Twister to make sure the delegation has a good time," the Utah Republican said. He added that he planned to ask Eagle Forum's Gayle Ruzicka to play with him.

"Gayle Ruzicka and I playing Twister: a dream come true," he joked.

Saratoga Springs Mayor Mia Love is still currently scheduled to speak on Tuesday.
