Here's your weekly roundup of what local city councils, school boards and other government entities are tackling during regularly scheduled meetings. All meetings are open to the public, and citizens are welcome to voice their opinions during designated times. If you do wish to speak at a particular meeting, you may need to sign up in advance.

Alpine School Board • Will consider the 2014-2015 school calendar in a regular meeting; Tuesday, May 15, 6 p.m., 575 N. 100 East, American Fork. At a 4 p.m. study session, the board will review the proposed fiscal 2013 maintenance and operations budget. View the Alpine board agenda.

Davis County Commission • Will vote on reappointments to the County Board of Health and agreements for various services for the 2012 Davis County Fair; Tuesday, May 15, 10 a.m., 28 E. State St., Farmington. View the Davis County agenda.

Davis School Board • Will consider a technology resources and Internet safety policy and acceptable use agreements; Tuesday, May 15, 5:30 p.m., 45 East State Street, Farmington. View the Davis board agenda.

Draper City Council • Will hold a public hearing on amending the zoning on about 4 acres at 12775 S. Fort Street (known as the Greenwood zone change) and will vote on amending the municipal code to clarify that the appeals and variance hearing officer is not authorized to hear and decide appeals of zoning decisions made by the City Council; Tuesday, May 15, 7 p.m., 1020 E. Farmington City Council • Will hold a public hearing on a zoning ordinance amendment that would regulate where tobacco retailers could locate. City staffers have recommended against approval because a state law going into effect on July 1 will impose essentially the same restrictions. The council also will consider a proposal to buy new Christmas decorations to replace ones damaged in a December storm; Tuesday, May 15, 7 p.m., 160 S. Main, Farmington. Fruit Heights City Council • Will discuss the fiscal 2013 general fund budget; Tuesday, May 15, 7 p.m., 910 S. Mountain Road, Fruit Heights. View the Fruit Heights agenda.

Granite School Board • Will consider a construction settlement and discuss a 5-year plan; Tuesday, May 15, 7 p.m., 2500 S. State St., Salt Lake City.

Herriman City Council • Will discuss signs and billboards, Redwood Road development and the West Herriman master plan at a work meeting; Thursday, May 17, 6 p.m., 13011 S. Pioneer St., Herriman. View the Herriman agenda.

Midvale City Council • Will hold a public hearing on proposed amendments to the fiscal 2012 budget and will review the Administrative Services Department budget; Tuesday, May 15, 7 p.m., 655 W. Center St. (7220 South), Midvale.

Murray City Council • Has rescheduled its Tuesday, May 15, meeting to Tuesday, May 22. The council's Budget and Finance Committee will meet Thursday, May 17, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Murray City Center, 5025 S. State St.

North Salt Lake City Council • Will consider proposed amendments to the Foxboro North General Development Plan and a conditional use permit for the Foxboro North project; Tuesday, May 15, 7 p.m., 10 E. Center St., North Salt Lake. View the North Salt Lake agenda.

Ogden City Council • Will vote on a capital improvement plan for fiscal years 2013 to 2017 and updates to the storm drain master plan; Tuesday, May 15, 6 p.m., 2549 Washington Blvd., Ogden. View the Ogden agenda.

Park City Council • Will hold a public hearing on the issuance and sale of up to $5 million of water revenue bonds. Also is scheduled to consider an ordinance annexing approximately 29 acres on the southwest corner of State Route 248 and U.S. 40 into the city but that vote might be postponed until next week; Thursday, May 17, 6 p.m., 445 Marsac Ave., Park City. Provo Municipal Council • Will vote on an ordinance enacting a six-month moratorium on electronic billboards in the city. The city wants the moratorium so it can craft rules regulating the signage; Tuesday, May 15, 7 p.m. Municipal Council Chambers, 351 W. Center St., Provo. View the Provo agenda.

Salt Lake City Council • Will take public comment on the proposed fiscal 2013 budget; Tuesday, May 15, 7 p.m., 451 S. State St., Salt Lake City. A work session will be held at 2 p.m. View the Salt Lake City agenda.

Salt Lake City School Board • Will hold a study session to discuss 2012-2013 school improvement and LAND Trust plans; 2012-2013 budget development; and student achievement plan — family and school collaboration; Tuesday, May 15, 6:30 p.m., 440 E. 100 South, Salt Lake City. Salt Lake County Council • Will hold public hearings on the transfers of small land parcels from the county to West Valley City, Taylorsville and Salt Lake City; Tuesday, May 15, 4 p.m., County Government Center, 2001 S. State. At its earlier work session, starting at 2:30 p.m., the council will receive reports on the process of appointing an advisory board to help revise the Foothills and Canyons Overlay Zone (FCOZ) ordinance, a new groundwater source-protection map and a sustainable communities program. Sandy • Will host an open house on an update to the housing element of the General Plan; 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 10000 Centennial Pkwy., Sandy.

Sunset City Council • Will discuss Interstate 15 corridor maintenance issues; Tuesday, May 15, 6:30 p.m., 200 W. 1300 North, Sunset. View the Sunset agenda.

Taylorsville • Mayor Russ Wall and city department heads will give a presentation on the fiscal 2013 tentative budget and answer questions about a proposed 38 percent increase on Taylorsville's portion of the property tax; Tuesday, May 15, 7 p.m., 2600 W. Taylorsville Blvd. (5325 South), Taylorsville.

Taylorsville City Council • Will discuss the proposed fiscal 2013 budget, including a proposal for the city to join the Unified Police Department; Wednesday, May 16, 6:30 p.m., 2600 W. West Valley City Council • Will hold a public hearing on an appeal of a denial by the Planning Commission for a zoning amendment that would allow fast food restaurants with drive-up windows under certain conditions in the 5600 West overlay zone; Tuesday, May 15, 6:30 p.m., 3600 S. Woods Cross City Council • Will hold a public hearing on proposed zoning amendments that would increase the number of chickens permitted on less than a half-acre to eight and to a maximum of 10 on any property, and consider establishing a dog park at 1895 W. 1950 South; Tuesday, May 15, 6:30 p.m., 1555 S. 800 West, Woods Cross.
