Live Internet streaming will be available for a debate Wednesday between the top three Republican candidates in Utah's U.S. Senate race.
The Republican Women of Utah Valley will host the debate at 7 p.m. at Juan Diego Catholic High School in Draper, but the event is sold out. The Sutherland Institute plans to live-stream the event online at http://www.ustream.com/channel/sutherland-tv.
Scheduled to debate are Sen. Orrin Hatch, former state Sen. Dan Liljenquist and state Rep. Chris Herrod. While 10 Republicans have filed in the race, the sponsoring group says it chose the participants based on performance in opinion polls.
It is one of only two debates in which Hatch has agreed to participate before the April 21 state GOP convention. A candidate who wins 60 percent of delegate votes there will advance to the general election; otherwise, the top two finishers will face off in a primary.
The next and final debate that Hatch has agreed to before the convention is on April 16 at 7 p.m. in St. George at the Gardner Center at Dixie State College.
