As the Legislature begins its 45-day session Monday, the 104 members come to the Capitol with a large entourage: Four hundred forty-four registered lobbyists — four for every elected member. That attentive crowd around lawmakers, along with the short time they have to consider hundreds of bills and figure out a $13 billion budget can combine to make the Legislature appear impenetrable to regular Utahns.

But there are ways to get through to your elected officials. The Tribune tries to make that a bit easier by providing contact information for every lawmaker. And — believe it or not — many of them are happy to hear from the people of Utah — particularly residents of their districts who vote and stay informed on the issues of the day.
