Let the dodging of orange traffic cones begin.

The Utah Department of Transportation on Tuesday released its list of top 25 road construction projects for the summer, and how to receive updates on construction.

Its website, http://www.udot.utah.gov, contains an interactive map of projects statewide. UDOT also printed a 2011 road construction guide that is available at Subway restaurants, hotels, motels, rental car companies and visitors centers statewide.

About 200 projects are scheduled for construction this year. Some of the biggest include:

Interstate 15 corridor expansion in Utah County • It will add two additional lanes in both directions between Lehi and Spanish Fork. The project is 30 percent complete and is scheduled for completion in December 2012.

Mountain View Corridor • Work is continuing on a new highway connecting Utah and Salt Lake counties. Significant work is expected this summer between Redwood Road (at 16000 South) and 5400 South (west of 5600 West).

Interstate 80 renovation from Salt Lake City to the Wyoming state line • Seven projects are scheduled to improve the roadway, including replacing three bridges, improving road surfaces, installing safety barriers and adding a climbing lane.

Other Interstate 15 improvements • Work, including adding lanes at choke points or resurfacing, is scheduled on that freeway in Bountiful, Murray, Draper, Box Elder County, Juab County and near St. George.

Bangerter Highway • UDOT is installing new "continuous flow intersections," similar to those installed previously at 3500, 4700 and 5400 South, at 3100, 4100, 6200 and 7000 South. It is also installing a "diverging diamond" interchange at Bangerter and SR-201.

New intersection type • UDOT is installing its first "ThrU Turn" intersection at 12300 South and State Street in Draper. It eliminates left turns at the intersection by instead having vehicles go through the intersection and then use signalized U-turns combined with right turns.

I-215 near Salt Lake City International Airport • Several bridge decks will be replaced there, leading to lane closures and restrictions and frequent night work.

State Street in Midvale • UDOT is adding a lane in each direction from 6400 to 8400 South.

US-89 from Wallsburg to Heber • A new five-lane roadway will be added, as well as passing lanes near Rainbow Bay and Deer Creek Reservoir. —
