PhD socks from SmartWool » Merino wool is comfortable and warm. SmartWool continues to find ways to make it even better. The company will launch a new PhD line of socks in fall 2012. Using years of athlete input and lab testing, the new socks will include 4 Degree Elite Fit and ReliaWool Technology. One of the main complaints of SmartWool socks was how quickly they wear out. The new socks are expected to wear longer and fit better — even "go more miles than shoes." The 4 Degree Elite Fit System uses four elastic bands to wrap and support the foot, providing stretch when the foot flexes. The new PhD line hits shelves in August. Information » smartwool.com
