Where • Park City Mountain Resort

Type • High-speed Sixpack

Vertical rise • 1,193 feet

Number of runs • 5

Difficulty rating • Beginner to expert

Why try it • Any kind of skiing you might want can be found here

The ride • Catch Crescent Hi-Speed Quad just up from the resort base, then follow the ridgeline traverse to McConkey's loading zone. If its slopes seem too hard, the Pioneer triple chair is there to provide access to milder terrain. McConkey's has something for everybody: a wide run that novices can take to the bottom, intermediate bump runs, steep pitches and powder potential of McConkey's bowl and tight tree runs in Molly's woods. But it has a long run-out to the lift.

Runs to try:

Georgeanna • This broad, sweeping traverse gives beginners and lower intermediates appropriate runs to take off this lift, with lower Tycoon offering more challenge than Georgeanna for people wanting to step it up a little.

Sunrise/Buckeye • Challenging intermediate runs that get bumped out quickly. You can take Sunrise all the way down from Pinyon Ridge, or you can start down it and branch off to Buckeye, which funnels you to the base of McConkey's Bowl.

McConkey's Bowl • Powder accumulates in this relatively small bowl, whose nice pitches make up for lack of size. If the bowl gets bumpy or hard, Molly's trees hold snow well — although tight turns are required in many stretches.
