Directions • From U.S. Highway 191, on the north end of Moab, take Highway 279 west for 4.2 miles to JayCee Park. The trailhead is at the kiosk in the parking lot.

The hike gives a view of the Colorado River and the city of Moab. From the JayCee Park, follow the trail east through the trees. In a few hundred yards, you will be walking on the slickrock parallel to Highway 279. At 0.45 miles you will see the trail's registration box. Continue up the slickrock. Pay attention to the cairns, as they are your only way of discerning where the trail is. The overlook is a ledge.
