Fishing spot of the week: Minersville Reservoir, Beaver County

Where • Minersville Reservoir, Beaver County

Species • Rainbow trout, brown trout, cutthroat trout, smallmouth bass and tiger trout.

The skinny • Minersville is managed to produce trophy trout, and it seems to be working. Recent spring gill netting results turned up fish near 6 pounds and over 24 inches. Anglers are reporting landing fish over 5 pounds. The reservoir is limited to the use of flies and lures only and a restricted harvest of one trout over 22 inches long.
