Seven-year-old Liam Hogan of Sandy has been making an annual family summer trip to Manitowish Waters in northern Wisconsin since before he could walk.

This past summer he advanced to a full-sized casting rod of his own and was fishing a leech (which he put on the hook by himself) when he landed this 19-inch smallmouth bass. It was his largest yet. —
