Where • Strawberry Reservoir, Wasatch County

Species • Bonneville cutthroat trout, rainbow trout

The skinny • The 'Berry may be the best trout fishery in the West right now. Special regulations to encourage in-reservoir recruitment are producing some big trout. Cutthroat up to 15 pounds have been caught this year, and rainbows in the same class have also been reported. Fall is a particularly good time to fish for trout at Strawberry. Watch the video and learn why bass techniques are the ticket this time of year. Anglers are allowed to keep four trout or salmon in the aggregate; no more than two may be cutthroat trout under 15 inches, and only one can be over 22 inches. Cutthroat between 15 and 22 inches must be released. Angler can keep four rainbow trout of any size.
