I was in attendance at the State Senate 4 debate between Jani Iwamoto and Sabrina Petersen. When I read the Oct. 8 Tribune article "Candidates Make Their Case for Senate Seat," I was dumbfounded by what was missing. The article failed to address the obvious differences between the two candidates with regard to their background, experience and knowledge of the issues.

Ms. Iwamoto's responses on education funding challenges, transportation concerns, school safety matters, environmental problems and other issues were thorough and straightforward. For me, and for many others who attended the debate that evening, it was clear that Ms. Iwamoto is the better qualified candidate. Listen for yourself at kcpw.org. I came away knowing Jani Iwamoto has a plan of action and can work with others to implement that plan.
