In his recent debate, Jason Chaffetz claimed corporate America is suffering under the highest corporate tax rate in the world, and that this is smothering the American economy.

Technically, this is incorrect. The U.S. corporate tax rate is actually the third highest in the world. However, this is not the major problem with Chaffetz's statements. Chaffetz's lies of omission are most egregious. What he does not tell us is that due to what are called "tax expenditures," U.S. corporations pay taxes at a lower rate than Germany, Japan, China, Canada and others.

So, I'll tell you what, Mr. Chaffetz, I'll happily support your idea of lowering the corporate tax rate to 25 percent if you will first close all the tax loopholes that allow corporate America to literally rob the rest of us.
