I am celebrating equality today! Marriage equality will soon be the law of the land across this entire nation! My future husband and my kids are on my mind, heart and soul with tears of joy for all of us! I have had a dream that I would have the equal right to marry the man I love when I find him! Today that dream can be a reality!
This is not just an issue of equal protection under law and equal rights! It is a test as to whether or not our nation will uphold, defend and preserve the God given, inalienable rights of freedom of conscience, freedom to exercise our beliefs or expression, freedom to choose and the freedom to pursue our own happiness! These rights comprise every fundamental of life, liberty, progression and happiness! These rights were not granted by humans or their governments, and they therefore have no right to limit them or take them away where they cause no harm to others!
It is ludicrous it has taken this long in a free republic for the Constitution to trump hate, bigotry, acculturation, money, greed, power and the desire of religious majorities to force their values, will and beliefs to limit and deprive the rights of others, contrary to the immutable laws of God and the universe!
I stand for equal rights for all people! We ought to all stand together to defend the rights God endowed upon every single soul in the human family whose worth and happiness are undeniably the focus of our existence! Let unconditional love be our banner! Let us cry with one loud voice: Let us be free in Utah, across America and in every corner of this world!
