Polls confirm that Americans are fed up with their dysfunctional Congress … so why do they keep voting for incumbents? According to Albert Einstein, "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

After watching the McAleer-Bishop congressional debate, I can't help but wonder why Utahns keep voting for incumbents whose main goal is obstructionism. Based on his repeated references to Harry Reid in the debate, one would think Bishop is running against the Senate majority leader rather than Donna McAleer. While McAleer answered questions with facts and figures, Bishop answered with generalities and platitudes. See for yourself at http://utahdebatecommission.org/. One particularly shocking contention of Bishop's is that the state of Utah is doing a great job of cleaning up our toxic air. Cough cough!

We need new people in Congress who are committed to working with colleagues in both parties to address our problems. Please educate yourself about the candidates rather than simply reaching for the one party lever to vote with your head in the sand.

Bishop voted to shut down the government. Let's vote to shut him out of Congress.
