In his typical brilliant and incisive manner, Clark Aposhian was again able to state the obvious. He was absolutely correct when he stated that it was the fault of the teacher who discharged her gun while at the school. Where he veers from sanity is when he states that our current gun laws (or lack of same) do not need to be changed.
Why is it necessary to arm our teachers? Can he honestly say with a straight face that a person such as this would be able to protect children in the event some madman entered the school with the intention of killing as many as possible? Far more likely the teacher would contribute to the carnage.
I would also like Mr. Aposhian to tell us when the inevitable happens and a child is killed (accidently I'm sure) by one of these armed teachers, is that child any less dead? It is long past time that our cowardly legislators bow to the wishes of their constituency and enact sane, comprehensive, gun laws. Polls consistently show that the general public overwhelmingly support such actions.
Please represent us instead of your masters at the NRA and ALEC. Guns do not belong in schools, churches, or, indeed, while walking down the street to make some obscure point.
