Earl Rucker ("Do-nothing Congress still gets elected," Sept. 10) is right. However, a finger pointed in the right direction is helpful when fully armed with plenty of information.

The House has passed a bevy of bills that are sitting on Harry Reid's desk in the Senate. In all, 356 bills made it through the House and are languishing in the Senate. And 98 percent of those bills were passed with bipartisan support. Two hundred of those bills were passed in the House with unanimous support from the entire chamber, and more than 100 were passed with 75 percent support of House Democrats.

It is the Senate where the obstruction exists. The do-nothing Senate has nothing to do until the Senate majority leader allows the bills to come to the floor. We need to clean house and get rid of every senator and congressman who has served 12 years or longer. Our "career" politicians are one of this country's biggest problems, regardless of party.
