Sunday, I took a drive out to the mountains west of Utah Lake. With fall coming, I wanted to hike, see the flowering sagebrush and sunflowers and take in the beauty of nature.

As I was hiking, I came to three camping grounds. They were littered with broken bottles, whole bottles, beer cans, liquor bottles, trash and plastic water bottles, plus garbage. I was in one campground where the people had set up a little shooting target. I looked at it a little closer, and there were tiny plastic dolls with their heads blown off. The place was completely trashed. I was so devastated.

Why can't people take pride in their canyons and clean up their own trash? I left feeling really sad.
