According to Rep. Chris Stewart ("Utah's Stewart: Speeches won't help, Obama must act," Sept. 10), President Obama made a mistake withdrawing troops from Iraq when no SOFA treaty could be negotiated. He further said, "I don't think anyone disagrees with that."

In fact, the majority of voters in the last presidential election disagreed with that. Obama was re-elected because he did not have to run against an ideal course of action, but had the good fortune to run against the Republican ideas like those expressed by Rep. Stewart.
