I read that the West Valley City Council has replaced the Civil Service Commission with a hearing officer. Also the article indicates that there was no public comment on the appointment. It is difficult for me to understand the logic behind this move. To vest life-altering decisions in one person rather than a group of diverse life experiences is, in my opinion, a big mistake. What are they thinking?
