I was driving my car the other day when I encountered a bicycle race on a public road in Morgan, Utah. I had the right of way with no stop sign for me when at least 30 bicycles blew through their stop sign.

I have to be licensed, vehicle registered and insured. If I was on a motorcycle, I would need a license for that also.

Bicyclists are not subject to any of these requirements, including not obeying traffic laws.

Golfers, sightseers in national parks and practically any other activity has a fee.

Bicycle races get to close public roads, much to the aggravation of motorists who pay for the roads and must obey all laws and regulations.

I see signs all over saying "Share the road." OK, then, share the road with vehicles. Stop riding two or three abreast, obey traffic laws and insist on participants completing some bicycle training.

Stop spending so much money on bicycle lanes, and keep golf courses open that at least pay partially for their operations.
