Eureka! I'm 75, and I finally figured out where liberals get all those strange world views, including that curious doctrinal disdain for business owners: The synapses in the liberal brain flow exactly backwards!
First, we had Barack Obama's nonsensical observation that if you built a business, you didn't build that business. Huh?
Then, in his weekly Sunday anti-business diatribe, George Pyle, cool-aid dripping from his neatly trimmed gray beard, actually would have you believe that government exists to serve people, while business exists solely to serve itself ("In Utah, we bribe the rich, punish the poor," August 31).
Wrong! Government is made up of politicians and bureaucrats who use other people's money to buy votes and unearned promotions. Zero accountability, as an $18 trillion national debt, Lois Learner and countless others have proven.
Business necessarily exists to serve its customers and clients. Otherwise, it is out of business. Its owners would have to become politicians or bureaucrats.
Mr. Pyle, how about a little respect for those of us who work 100-hour weeks, pay employees, suppliers, federal, state and local politicians and bureaucrats, utilities, landlords, franchisors, (the list goes on and on), and then get to keep anything that might be left over, only to then re-invest that in our sorely outdated equipment.
