Recently, as I was driving home from work, I witnessed another case where a driver, this time driving a semi-truck and trailer, got tired of waiting for sufficient space to pull his rig onto California Avenue. He did it anyway, causing other motorists to come to a violent stop to avoid the collision.
This happens regularly at the intersection of Gladiola Street (3400 West) and California Raceway. On two separate occasions I have tried to find some entity that would claim responsibility for traffic at that location. I was simply inquiring if anyone has done a traffic study and perhaps proposed traffic signals at that intersection. Salt Lake City, West Valley City and Salt Lake County have all denied ownership or jurisdiction.
There are no traffic signals on California between Pioneer Road and Bangerter Highway and the race is on. Someone please take ownership of the problem before it gets worse and somebody dies.
