Letter: Demolition derby deaths are avoidable
First Published Aug 15 2014 04:23 pm • Last Updated Aug 15 2014 04:28 pm

How many must die?

As I watch the news, we have lost another judge in a demolition derby. This makes two, as another one was killed in a demolition derby in Delta earlier this summer.

What is wrong with the people who set these up? You should never allow anyone on foot in the arena at the same time the cars are trying to take each other out. This can be done outside of the arena and safely away from the competitors. If something happens, sound a loud horn to stop it. And then when they stop, and only then, you can enter the arena.

Come on people. This is not rocket science!
