I am not a rock concertgoer, as last night's Paul McCartney was my second one. But what an epic event! Earlier in the day, my thoughts wandered off to earlier times when the Beatles were young and so were my friends and I.

McCartney represented 50 years of our lives. Many things happened during those years. As my friend said, "Did you ever think that as 14 year olds watching the Beatles that we'd still be enthralled by them as grandparents?" Eyes swelled. As young teens, we had no cares or worries.

I stood and swayed for the two hours plus 50 minutes of the break-free performance (thank goodness no one was behind me) transfixed in the moment, only to be jolted back to the broken pipes at home and the impending U.S. bombing in Iran.

Thank you, Paul, for giving me an evening sans souci!
