Letter: ‘Which’ and ‘witch’ are not homophones
First Published Aug 01 2014 08:35 am • Last Updated Aug 01 2014 08:35 am

I usually read with interest Paul Rolly’s column. Homophones, as he aptly pointed out, are basic grammar taught beginning at primary school level, but to confuse which and witch as fitting within that category is categorically incorrect.

Yes, the two words rhyme but which witch I am talking about do not sound the same. Never have, never will and never should be confused. This is especially important as I believe the Tribune is used as a teaching tool in our schools. Where were the editors on this one?
