Letter: Suing president is dysfunctional
First Published Aug 01 2014 08:35 am • Last Updated Aug 01 2014 08:35 am

Well, it seems that the U.S. House of Representatives has decided that after having failed over 50 times to dismantle the Affordable Care Act that they will now sue President Obama to achieve their goal.

Speaker Boehner knows full well that many in his party want to take impeachment actions but also knows this would not go well for his party in the midterms, so the actions to sue is a roundabout way to get at the President. What a waste of precious time, and just before our wonderful representatives go on a five week vacation. It disgusts me that our government is so dysfunctional.

The founders of our nation established that the three branches of government — executive, legislative and judicial — would be the proper check and balance needed to keep things honest and functional. I for one feel that the actions to sue the President is just another great display of a nonfunctional government and a waste of time and money that should be spent on helping our country out of this difficult time.
