Letter: Small acts restore this mother’s hope
First Published Jul 23 2014 05:13 pm • Last Updated Jul 23 2014 05:13 pm

It’s easy to find reasons to vent, and there are days I feel like the world is against me and I want to do it, too. You know the posts that go like this: "Dear man at the traffic light who cut me off ... "

But in the past week, I’m reminded that people are generally good and that we’re all in this together. A clerk at Old Navy got down on her knees to comfort my little girl after she walked straight into a pillar, and a man stopped traffic and waved my awesome, tentative teenage driver into a tricky intersection, helping her navigate it. What a difference these small acts of kindness have meant to me as a mother. I hope I can pass it on!
