Re: ("Write your lawmakers? Polygamist prophet Warren Jeffs does — a lot," July 22):
Eew! Why are lawmakers even discussing that rheumy-eyed child rapist? It's like locker room talk. Sen. Todd Weiler, R-Woods Cross, mentions Jeffs' admonition to stop "having relations with my wife." This is in such poor taste for a lawmaker to joke around as if Warren Jeffs was just a clown rather than a hardened criminal. The Republican Party accepts gifts from Jeffs? I am embarrassed for them.
Is Warren Jeffs allowed to write letters to little girls down in polygamy town? How is it that this criminal is influencing anyone? Are his letters going to become souvenirs? Eew!
