Do the statistics featured in Sunday's centerpiece ("How bad are Utah drivers?" July 20) really prove that Utahns are bad drivers? Could it be that the state has more than its share of avaricious government entities that use their police powers to shake down the citizenry? Hard to prove either way, though many cities on the list are notorious speed traps, one of which was featured in a past Tribune article about police putting the squeeze on foreign tourists. What percentage of these cities' budget revenue comes from speeding tickets? The answer might make an interesting followup.
