James Oshust suggests ("Let liberals house them," July 7) that liberals should bear the costs of housing, teaching and and caring for the recent influx of immigrant refugees - and I couldn't agree more.
Tell you what, Mr. Oshust. Let's have all of the neoconservatives come together and pay the $2 trillion they wasted on a totally unnecessary war in Iraq, Then we can have all of the conservatives pay back the $154 billion they gave last year in direct subsidies and grants to companies (i.e. corporate welfare). And, of course, the "tea party" can return the $24 billion they wasted on shutting down the government. And, lest we forget, fiscally irresponsible Sen. Lee can pay back the bank for his home short sale that the bank wrote off in losses (taxes) due the taxpayers.
And, before we follow the demands of the war hawks for further involvement in Iraq, Syria, Ukraine, Chad, Libya, etc. let's make sure they and their war profiteer friends get the bills.
Yes, Mr. Oshust, liberals should and would be fine with paying the bills for refugees, if conservatives paid their bills. Too bad that's not the way our country works.
