If Mike Lee is truly a Christian, perhaps he'll remember this lesson from the book of Job: "I have uttered that which I knew not, and I repent in dust and ashes."
Asserting the idea that birth control is used "recreationally" by women is to acknowledge that you know nothing about women, women's health, or the socio-economic realities of women. The implications of this comment are far-reaching, insulting, and embarrassing not only to the women of Utah but to our entire state.
Mr. Lee, if you would bother to do a minor amount of research, speak to constituents outside of your ward boundaries, and become truly educated on a subject before you open your mouth, people like me could save a lot on our blood pressure medication, and that would go a long way toward helping our health care system.
