Letter: Don’t missionaries do what Kate Kelly is doing?
First Published Jun 24 2014 04:24 pm • Last Updated Jun 24 2014 04:51 pm

Based upon the reasons given by Vienna, Va., bishop Mark Harrison for the excommunication of Kate Kelly, as given in the official letter to Ms. Kelly that was quoted in the Tribune, all Mormon missionaries should also be excommunicated. The wording of the accusation against Kelly: "you have persisted in an aggressive effort to persuade other(s) .... to your point of view and that your course of action has threatened to erode the faith of others." ... "You are not entitled to promote (your views ) ... and proselyte others. ... "

Isn’t that the mission of Mormon missionaries, and isn’t that exactly what they do?
