Letter: Tea Party looks out for the one percent
First Published Jun 13 2014 04:27 pm • Last Updated Jun 13 2014 04:27 pm

In response to Sandy Thackeray’s letter ("Most Americans agree with the tea party," June 11), I wonder if Sandy wants her Social Security and Medicare taken away from her or, if she isn’t old enough to be retired , she is OK with not receiving it later on when she may need it.

Or maybe she is one of the chosen who are the one percent of the wealthy Americans and will not need the help that all Americans who work and receive a paycheck need. The next paycheck you get, look at the stub and see that money was paid into these programs in your name because you earned it. All the tea party wants is for the very wealthy Americans, or the chosen few, to run this country and the rest of us to bow down to them.

Well, I for one will not, and hopefully some or all of the other Americans will see the light before it is to late.
