If I remember correctly, back in 1986 when I started at the University of Utah after graduating high school, I signed up for 12-13 credit hours and I distinctly remember my father writing a check for $450 on the quarter system.
Can you believe it? That's way cheap compared to now. I would hate to have to take out loans to go to school the whole time nowadays. You'll owe a fortune by the time you're done, considering you can find a job in the area you went to school for.
McDonald's may be your fate since we have to go into such specific areas in order to ensure a job. But, on the other hand, too narrow of an education can leave you not broadly educated for all the employers who just want a college graduate to start at an entry level and then move up to a respectable middle management or better. Don't underestimate a liberal education. The more rounded you are shows through.
