It's downright embarrassing having a governor like Gary Herbert. He is quoted in comparing interracial marriage to same sex marriage thusly:
"What you choose to do with your sexual orientation is different in my mind than what you're born with as far as your race," Herbert said. He added later: "What your attraction may be is something else, but how you act upon those impulses is a choice."
It's kind of like saying if you're born black you can't help it, but don't ask to sit in a white restaurant!
