Letter: Judge evaluations are out by June 15
First Published May 21 2014 05:32 pm • Last Updated May 21 2014 05:32 pm

A recent letter to the editor requested information about judges appearing on the ballot in November 2014. The Judicial Performance Evaluation Commission (JPEC) is responsible for evaluating Utah judges and preparing judicial evaluation reports, including recommendations about whether each judge should be retained for another term of office.

I am pleased to report that judicial evaluation reports for all judges whose names will be on the November 2014 ballot are now complete and will be available no later than June 15 at www.judges.utah.gov. Voters will see a summary page for each judge, including JPEC’s recommendation. For voters who want to delve more deeply, survey and courtroom observation results can also be viewed. When it comes to Utah judges, every voter can now be an informed voter.
