Letter: Tribune should not run sleazy ads
First Published May 19 2014 07:50 pm • Last Updated May 19 2014 07:50 pm

Are full page ads worth your soul?

I realize The Tribune is in dire financial health, but that is no reason for complicity in scamming your readers. A simple search of the World Reserve Monetary Exchange, which promises free silver coins, will find scores of consumer complaints and fraud investigations. Several TV stations around the country have done on-air investigations and found the deal beyond shady.

It’s also quite a coincidence that their corporate address is the same as that for Heat Surge, the amazing Amish heater, which is also facing its share of complaints of consumer fraud.

So, while the full and half page ads may be putting dollars in your pockets, they’re also putting your ethics in the garbage. I have been a Trib subscriber for close to 40 years and I hope it is around much longer. But, if you do go down, go with your head held high.

I doubt this will make the opinion page, but I hope at least it makes the next staff meeting. You all know in your hearts and heads the company is beyond sleazy.
