In 100 years, how will society judge ours from 2014?

We have laws in our country that I find very perplexing. If a woman ends the life of her baby before it is born or takes a breath, it is considered her choice, and is legal. If a woman delivers a live baby, then ends its life soon after, it is illegal, she is branded as a sick monster, and faces life imprisonment, or sometimes the death penalty. I would love for someone to convince me that this makes sense in any way, shape, or form.
