I read with interest the comments of Utah state Rep. Ken Ivory in the article about public lands ("Ex-BLM boss spars with state lawmaker," April 24).

Ivory claims that the situation with rancher Cliven Bundy never would have happened if Nevada controlled those federal lands. Well, according to former Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer, a former rancher himself, Nevada charges $12 per cow per month while the BLM charges $1.35. Hmmm ....
