ShaLae Marie Jenson's letter ("Full Tithing is God's Law," April 19) claims that paying the church is "a way to thank God and show Him at least 10 percent of my love, gratitude, and obedience." What has always baffled me is why the creator of the universe, all physical matter, space and time, the architect of quantum mechanics, gravity, black holes, galaxies, stars and the earth itself, the author of life and maker of eternal souls, is somehow always a little short on cash. Seems strange … but I guess, since it's all about obedience I shouldn't be asking any questions. Right?
