Re: the Pat Bagley cartoon ("Global Warming is a hoax!" April 15) The Los Angeles Times late last year adopted a policy of refusing to publish letters from climate change deniers because as the letters editor wrote "Letters that have an untrue basis (for example, ones that say there's no sign humans have caused climate change) do not get printed."

So kudos to the L.A. Times as it evidently embraces the Buddha's thought that to deny the authority of empirical evidence disqualifies one as someone worthy of critical engagement in a dialogue.

I'm betting that I'm not alone in hoping that other quality U.S. newspapers such as The Salt Lake Tribune will follow suit.
