Letter: Democrats have billionaire donors, too
First Published Apr 08 2014 01:01 am • Last Updated Apr 08 2014 12:39 pm

The recent cartoon by Pat Bagley shows his consistent (insistent?) liberal bias ("Blessed are the billionaires," April 2).

While it is true that the Koch brothers and Sheldon Adelson are significant contributors to Republican/right-wing causes, the cartoon has no caricature of George Soros.

Mr. Soros has contributed significantly more to Democratic/left-wing causes. In fact, Soros has contributed more than the Koch brothers and Sheldon Adelson combined. As a Tribune subscriber for over 33 years, I have noticed that the consistently (insistently?) left-wing bias of the paper has grown virtually unabated.

As "Utah’s Independent Voice" since 1871, as you proclaim on the top of each day’s paper, it would be refreshing to see a little more "independence" and a little less liberalism. I really don’t see that happening.
