Letter: GOP afraid of ACA’s apparent successs
First Published Apr 02 2014 01:01 am • Last Updated Apr 02 2014 04:37 pm

I was just listening to the news regarding the Republicans’ latest effort to abolish Obamacare. They have trotted out their own version of health care for the masses, minus any details as to how they intend to accomplish this.

Clearly their efforts are meant to appeal to far-right Republicans and Obama haters. More than 6 million people have signed up for the Affordable Care Act ("Deadline brings high interest for health insurance," Tribune, April 1).

Up to this point Republicans have been practically doing cartwheels in their gleeful celebration over every difficulty in working the bugs out of the ACA. Now that it looks like it is on the right track, it is absolutely clear that the Republicans are not afraid that the ACA will fail. They are afraid that it will succeed.
