Letter: Anti-Obama letter really means the opposite
First Published Mar 29 2014 01:01 am • Last Updated Mar 29 2014 01:01 am

On first reading of Larry Henkels’ opinion of Obama ("World leaders don’t want to deal with Obama," Forum, March 22), you might think that our president was the worst and the last person anyone would want to lead, much less govern our country.

But, once you realize that Larry is obviously another mouthpiece for the elitist, far-right Republican tea partiers, then you need to decode his message. The decryption is basically the total opposite of what he writes.

What he is really saying: Obama has total respect for the truth and takes definitive care in all his statements. He respects our Constitution while defending us from foreign dictators who may pose a threat to us and our allies.

And because of his veneration for the oath of office he took when he became president, he adheres to our laws while continually consulting with Congress in regard to foreign intervention. Because of these actions, Obama is respected and consulted by countries throughout the world.

Thanks to well-informed and knowledgeable voters, we are lucky to have Obama as president for another three years. I emphatically agree!
