Letter: Don’t patronize shops where parking is metered

Re "Read up on city ordinances before parking in SLC," Forum, March 23:

Unfortunately all parking violations under Salt Lake City ordinances are not equal. Had Bill Brennan’s wife received a citation for illegally parking in a handicapped space, she would have had a fighting chance of having her citation overturned. However, the same standard does not apply equally at parking meters.

As for all other locations within the city, the best advice I can offer is to avoid conducting business where free off-street parking is not provided if at all possible; this is what I do.
