Re Leonard Pitts column, "Who speaks for the voiceless once they are born?" Opinion, March 19: Such a sad and disturbing article. I recall when the anti-abortion slogan "Abortion Stops A Beating Heart" first appeared, there was a bumper sticker version saying, "Abortion Stops a Beating."

If a woman detests a developing baby enough to rip it out of her body and discard it (for whatever reason, she best knows) how can she be expected to nurture and love it after it is born?

In a perfect world, all babies would be protected and cherished. Abortion foes would prefer to believe that we all live in such a world. If only...
